Utility of Treatment Implementation methodsin clinical trial with rehabilitation teams
Alan B. Stevens, PhD, et al.
Rehabilitation medicine uses ateam approach to promote therecovery of function in individu-als with disabilities. These pro-fessionals bring complementaryskills to assist in the recovery of,for example, ambulation (physi-cal therapy), self-care (occupational therapy), and languagedifficulties (speech-language pathology). While some teamsare better than others, researchers have limited tools withwhich to scientifically study teams. This article describesTreatment Implementation (TI), an approach that promotesand tracks a complex team-training intervention. The TImethods were useful in demonstrating that the participantsreceived and enacted the intervention strategies.
