The Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development (JRRD) is an international, peer-reviewed rehabilitation research journal sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The journal accepts original manuscripts from U.S. and international researchers on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to assistive technology, cognitive disorders, neurorehabilitation, prosthetics, and telemedicine.

JRRD now offers 10 issues a year and is available at no cost in print and electronic format. The journal is also available through various abstract and indexing companies, including PubMed, CrossRef, Social Science Index, Engineering Index, Directory of Open Access Journals, and Google Scholar.

Researchers Dupret-Bories et al recently tested a titanium tracheal prosthesis in sheep to determine the best surgical implantation method. In time, the prosthesis may serve as a substitute for laryngeal cartilage.
