JRRD Spotlight

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Rehabilitation Research and Development Service (RR&D) welcomes Shirley Groer, PhD, as the Editor of JRRD. Dr. Groer received her doctoral degree in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining RR&D, she was a field-based investigator with research studies supported through both the VA’s RR&D and Health Services Research & Development services. Her research encompasses a variety of topics including assistive technology and its impact on Veteran’s lives, quality of life and traumatic brain injury, and interventions for posttraumatic stress disorder. In addition to taking on the Editor role, Dr. Groer continues to serve as RR&D scientific program manager for the Social Reintegration and Mental Health Program. Dr. Groer is excited and pleased to serve as Editor and encourages investigators to contact her with questions regarding submissions and JRRD’s review process.
