To responsibly evaluate and disseminate scientific research
findings impacting the rehabilitative healthcare community.


The Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development (JRRD) is an international, gold open-access, peer-reviewed rehabilitation research journal sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and has been in continuous publication since 1964. The journal accepts original manuscripts from U.S. and international researchers in more than 30 different topic areas, synthesizing therapeutic physical, behavioral, technical, and pharmaceutical agents aimed at providing state-of-the-art research to assist Veterans and all adults with chronic illness and disabilities. JRRD content is medically relevant to scientists, physicians, clinicians, therapists, and the lay person. JRRD reaches nearly every country around the world and its content (including legacy) is fully accessible for no fee to anyone who has an internet connection.

JRRD, published 10 times per year, is indexed by Academic OneFile, Academic Search Premier, CINAHL Database, CrossRef, DOAJ, Google Scholar, Web of Knowledge, PubMed, Referativnyi Zhurnal/Abstracts Journal (VINTI), SPORTDiscus, and ProQuest Government Periodicals Index.
