Research Health Science Specialist, Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Research and Development (ORD)
Program officers are sought who have basic science or clinical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: a) spinal cord injury, b) traumatic brain Injury, c) stroke, d) prosthetics and orthotics, e) sensory systems, f) progressive neurological diseases, g) vocational rehabilitation and psychological reintegration, h) medical complications of disabling disorders, i) other rehabilitation relevant disciplines. These positions are within the Rehabilitation Research and Development (RR&D) Service, Office of Research and Development (ORD), at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Central Office in Washington, DC. The RR&D Service is one of four components of the Office of R&D within the Veterans Health Administration. The incumbent manages a rehabilitation research program that spans the continuum of health care research and supports the integration of research and practice, linking the clinical aspects of patient care and service management needs. ORD's Rehabilitation Research and Development (RR&D) Service is recruiting Health Science Officers with expert knowledge of the principles, practices and research methodologies applicable to current rehabilitation related research in the fields of Spinal Cord Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury, Amputation, Prosthetics and Sensory Systems. VHA is the largest integrated health care system in the United States. ORD plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates VHA's national Research and Development (R&D) programs in fulfillment of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) research mission. The main office for ORD is located in Washington, DC at the Headquarters for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The work site for the selected candidate is Washington, DC. Salary Range: $99,822-$121,967. Relocation expenses are authorized.
