Shirley Groer, PhD

Shirley Groer, PhD, received her doctoral degree in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining VA Central Office, she was a field-based VA investigator at two RR&D funded Centers researching a variety of topics including assistive technology and its impact on Veteran’s lives, quality of life and traumatic brain injury, and interventions for post-traumatic stress disorder. In the field she mentored Masters and Doctoral students in rehabilitation research methodology and statistics and has disseminated rehabilitation research findings widely through publications in leading journals and at nationally recognized rehabilitation conferences. She has served as the Editor of Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development.
