Carole Sztalryd-Woodle, PhD

Carole Sztalryd-Woodle, PhD, received her doctoral degree in Nutrition from the University of Sciences Paris VII, Paris, France. She then pursued postdoctoral studies at the VA Palo Alto, and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, focusing on diabetes and lipid metabolism. She joined the VA Central office after 15 years of independent research at the VA Baltimore GRECC and University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she was a Research Physiologist (2003-2018), Assistant Professor (2003-09), and Associate Professor (2009-18) in the Department of Medicine, in the division of Gerontology (VA) and division of Endocrine, Diabetes and Nutrition (UMD). She led a multidisciplinary team on research program contributing to translational and clinical projects in the fields of aging, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Member of several professional associations, she reviewed research applications for national and international agencies, and lectured at national and international institutions. She has authored 58 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
